    Global Recession2009

oh, I have not updated my blog for a long time.
Just can not sleep, wake up.
The situation is really bad in U.K.
We have been asked to take one week unpaid holiday during March and April.
And some more serious action has been proposed, but I can not disclose anything.
But what I know and what I can see is more and more people will lose their jobs in U.K. in U.S. in the world......
All crabs...what's wrong with the world...what's wrong with the banking system...

I took the plane from Birmingham to Hong Kong via Paris, but because of a sick passanger on the plane.
Our plane was stopped at Russia for emergency landing, my flight was delayed about 3 hours.
Everything is fine, just a little bit tired, and Hong Kong is too hot compared the weather in UK.
    Actually, I am almost wet.
First Day, I can say hot hot hot Hong Kong.

MEM celebrates its Centenary-the company I am working for.

The MEM brand is 100 years old! The Midland Electric Manufacturing Company Ltd. began manufacturing switch and fusegear in a workshop behind a house in Conybere Street, Birmingham in 1908. Today it is part of the Eaton Corporation which has 81,000 employees worldwide. Switchgear and fusegear are still manufactured at the main UK factory in Reddings Lane, Birmingham, less than 3 miles from Conybere Street where it all began.

Eaton is marking the occasion with celebrations and special gifts for employees at the MEM sites in Birmingham, Holyhead and Middleton.  A programme of special events is planned for employees, distributors and major customers.   A display at Reddings Lane traces the 100-year history and various centenary publications are being produced to coincide with the month in which the company name was registered, September 1908.

MEM products span the whole spectrum of electrical installation equipment, from the main switchboard to the socket-outlet.  They include industrial switchgear, busbar trunking, panelboards and distribution boards, lighting management systems, motor controlgear, domestic switchgear and wiring accessories.  But circuit protection – fuses and circuit-breakers – has remained at the heart of the business since the earliest days.

The company name was registered in 1908 with a capital of just £800 and the ‘MEM’ trade mark was registered three years later.  MEM became a public company in 1926.  It remained independent until 1971 when it was acquired by Delta Metal which went on to acquire names like Nettle Accessories, Bill Switchgear, Home Automation and Holec.  The Electrical Division of Delta was sold to its present owner, Eaton Corporation of Cleveland Ohio in January 2003.  Since then Eaton has invested heavily in modernisation and rationalisation.

MEM was founded by a 28 year-old engineer, Walter L Barber, who saw the potential of the emerging electrical industry.  Within a year the company had introduced a standardised range of ironclad switch and fusegear as an alternative to the expensive custom-built equipment of the day.  This was followed by a radical new design of rewirable fuse that was less prone to pyrotechnic displays than other devices available at the time.

Walter Barber was a visionary who saw the benefits of standardising product design.  In the 1920s, he began looking at the mass-production techniques employed by Henry Ford and others in America and introduced assembly-line production to MEM.  From an early stage he pursued a policy of self-sufficiency, establishing the company’s own foundry, pottery, extrusion presses and facilities to produce springs and turned parts.

MEM has continued to be at the forefront of developments in circuit protection.  It was one of the first companies to introduce HRC cartridge fuses in the post-war years.  It introduced its first domestic consumer unit in 1955 and its first miniature circuit-breakers in 1965.  Early MCBs were of European origin but in 1988 MEM announced the first all-British range of current-limiting MCBs designed and manufactured in Holyhead.  1996 saw the introduction of the revolutionary ‘pod’ RCBO with its modular construction.   The Company still offers the MCB range; and the modular ‘pod’ RCBO is still a unique device.

The Joy In Loving- Mother Teresa

Just got a book called The Joy In Loving- Daily Wisdom with Mother Teresa from Oxfam.
On the front page, a guy wrote: Every single day is a gift from God and He wants to teach us, and bles us.
    It is wonderful!
Keep the joy of loving God in your heart and share this joy with all you meet especially your family.
    Be holy- let us pray.

Day trip to Bath & Stonghenge & Salisbury

Britain's summer, I can use fantastic to describe.
Not too hot, not too cold, but a little bit windy. I believe if my parents are here, they will like the summer here, much better than that in my hometown Shanghai.
I went to the two historic towns in South-west England. one is Bath which is my second time been there, another one is Salisbury, also short stop to the wellkown National Heritage-Stonghenge.
I am watching a Hong Kong TV drama these days, it mentioned Bath-a romantic city.
Actually, it is a small town, just take you few hours can walk around the whole town.
Bath is a beautiful place, second time to be this place, saw a lot of wonderful pig sculptures, almost every corner in the town which is lovely.
Seat in the gardon infrom of the Abby, listern to the  sound of steam.Everything is so familiar, the only change is the season, I remember last time I went to Bath during winter time which is a little bit chilly.
Next stop is Stonghenge, just took some photos outsite because it was raining heavily when I been there.
The last stop is the town of Salisbury, the most famous in Salisbury is Salisbury Cathedral, it is the second tallest in Europe, the tip of its spire being 404ft above the ground.
Aha, forget to introduce the Culpeper essenial oils. This brand is back to 1927.
A herb essenial oil called Vetiver,it s a deeply relaxing oil both physically and emotionally.
But I didnot buy Vetiver, my favourite is Orange,Lavender,Vanille and Rose.
Listern to the music, reading a book with the sunshine in the sense of nature which let me relax.

    Schindler's List

I just listened the BBC radio 4 and talked about  the Schindler's list which is one of my favourite films have watched before.

The music which makes me fell distressed but also shocked.

Now is the midnight of East Sunday, tomorrow is Easter Monday which is Banking Holiday!

So I can have another day to have a rest.

The weather is getting warm and better, day time is getting longer.

Nice day, although spent a long time in the bed today. LOL

    Easter Sunday

Do you know why we have easter holiday?
Easter is a Chrisian feast commemorationg the Resurrection of Jesus.
And you must know Good Friday or so called Holy Friday as well, that's the date when Jesus was crucified and died.
And three days after which is Easter Sunday is his resurrection.
In many countries with a strong Christian tradition such as United Kingdom where I am now, the day is observed as a public or federal hoilday.
And in most of Western Country, banks and government offices at all levels and public secor businesses are closed!

We should rely on God and trust Jesus Christ and also remember his crucifixion on the cross.

And here in England, we also eat a bread called Hot cross buns which is one kind of my favourite, I bought a pack last week.

    Peace be with you.

    Love you forever.

    May the God glory you!

    God Bless

    Weather

I can not believe the weather in UK, last week I saw the BBC weather forecast said it will snow across UK this Sunday.
I always think weather forecast like some sort of gambling  or even the demanding forcasting in our manufacturing Industry, they are not always correct and can not always trust. But it does snow today!

In March, it should be spring, but the earth is becoming disorderly, and the weather has become unpredictable! Not only here in UK but also in China another part of the world. When I called my mother in Shanghai, she always complained the weather, complained the climate changing!
She even said if I came back home I will feel breathless since the air is polluted. It is ture, but it is getting better than before in Shanghai I think. Read a piece of news from internet, a environmental specialist went to GuangZhou the south part of China, he even predicted that GuangZhou will become a too hot place that is no longer suitable for people to live! If there is no air-condition faciality, a lots of people will die during the coming summer hot wave! It maybe just an imagination, but it will come ture one day in the future. That's why we should care about the environmental issues nowadays!

Last week, I went to Loughborough, one of our suppliers. We had a meeting with them because of their poor performance in on time delivery.
It is a good experience to me becasue I am a new guy, I even didnot know what to say and what need to argue with them. But I am learning, all my colleagues are friendly they can bear my stupid questions and my poor english.

Hope I can improve it more soon and going to upper level soon!

    God Bless~

life is a box of chocolates

Life is going ups and downs!

    Sometimes happy, sometimes sad....

Saw my previous housmates' Blogs, those girls who I used to live with. They all miss the life in UK.

But to me, I havenot back home for a long time, a little bit homesick although with the company of my honey here.

To be honest, back or stay is always a difficult choice!

Life here is tough, I feel pressure. Now I can understand my former classmate who is a Pak.

But it is not so much bad, I have a job at the moment, I get money to live although visa is a problem to me.

I just want to write something, but I even get lost what I want to say.

I am not so much weak, but need time to recover!

I have such kind of bad mood experience!

Anyway, whatever I said, forget it!

The most important thing is Add Oil!

Hurry up! Believe me, I can make it!

At last, wish all my friends good luck!

    Love of Money

God said the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil.

    It is true!

But you may argue, money is not everything, without money we can do nothing!

It doesnot mean you donot need to earn money, we do need to work to get money to support our life.

I quite understand life here is a little bit tough to some person, cos every thing is expensive.

But never care about money so much, if so you will lose your friend, even lose your life.

I am seriously, some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with man griefs.
